These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Chronologiq (the “Service”), a web-based timeline visualization and analysis platform available at chronologiq.app. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not use the Service.
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Your continued use of the Service after any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
Chronologiq is a universal timeline builder that enables users to visualize, correlate, and analyze events across time. The Service includes:
- •Creating and managing timeline canvases with multiple views (horizontal, vertical, subway, heatmap, table)
- •AI-powered text and document parsing to extract structured timeline events
- •AI-powered insights and pattern analysis across timeline data
- •Import and export in JSON, CSV, and PDF formats
- •Canvas sharing and collaboration features
Features may change, be added, or be removed at our discretion as the Service evolves.
To access most features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- •Provide accurate and complete registration information
- •Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
- •Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
- •Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Account deletion will permanently remove your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Chronologiq uses a credit-based system for certain features. New accounts receive a signup bonus of credits. Additional credits can be purchased through the Service via Stripe.
- •Credit consumption: Various operations consume credits (e.g., AI parsing, insight generation, PDF export). Current credit costs are displayed in the Service and may be adjusted.
- •Non-refundable: Credits are non-refundable except at our sole discretion. Refunds for payment issues are handled on a case-by-case basis.
- •No expiration: Purchased credits do not expire as long as your account remains active.
- •Pricing changes: We reserve the right to modify credit costs and package pricing. Changes will not affect credits already purchased.
All payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
Your Content
You retain all rights to the data and content you upload to Chronologiq. We claim no intellectual property rights over the material you provide to the Service. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you.
Our Content
The Service itself, including its design, code, branding, logo, and documentation, is owned by Chronologiq and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without written permission.
AI-Generated Content
Content generated by AI features (parsed events, insights, suggestions) is derived from your input data. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of AI-generated content before relying on it.
You agree not to use the Service to:
- •Upload or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- •Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- •Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
- •Exploit the credit system through fraudulent means or abuse the AI features
- •Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
- •Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
The Service uses Artificial Intelligence technologies provided by Microsoft Azure OpenAI and Hugging Face. By using AI features, you acknowledge and agree that:
- •AI-generated content (including parsed events, insights, and suggestions) may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or “hallucinations”
- •You must review and verify all AI-generated content before relying on it for any purpose
- •Chronologiq is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
- •AI output should not be used as the sole basis for important decisions without independent verification
- •Data sent to AI providers is processed according to their respective policies and is not used to train AI models
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Chronologiq and its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability.
The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any content, including AI-generated output.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Chronologiq and its operators, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- •Violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
- •Fraudulent or abusive behavior
- •Extended period of account inactivity
- •Request by law enforcement or government authority
You may terminate your account at any time from Settings > Danger Zone. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Unused credits are non-refundable upon termination.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you should stop using the Service.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the applicable arbitration authority in the jurisdiction where Chronologiq operates.
You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The unenforceable provision shall be replaced with an enforceable provision that most closely reflects the intent of the original.
